Senior Tunnel Risk Engineer - Underground Construction & Infrastructure Projects

Your Tasks

  • Perform technical risk assessments and desktop reviews of international tunnel, underground construction and infrastructure projects
  • Conduct risk engineering surveys and site assessments on major construction projects worldwide
  • Evaluate construction methodologies, geotechnical conditions, project execution strategies and risk mitigation measures
  • Advise clients and project stakeholders on industry best practices and risk improvement opportunities
  • Prepare high-quality technical reports and recommendations for underwriters, clients, brokers and co-insurers
  • Develop Probable Maximum Loss (PML) scenarios and other engineering-based risk analyses
  • Support underwriting decisions through technical expertise and project-specific risk evaluations
  • Deliver technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the continuous development of risk engineering methodologies, tools and technical standards

Your Profile

  • Master's degree or PhD in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
  • Strong expertise in tunnel construction, underground works, TBM operations and/or complex geotechnical projects
  • Solid understanding of construction risk management and project execution
  • Experience working in international and multidisciplinary project environments
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities
  • Customer-focused mindset and ability to engage with senior project stakeholders
  • Fluent English (written and spoken); additional languages such as German, Italian or Spanish are advantageous
  • Willingness to travel internationally
