Job Description
Strategic Underwriter Engineering

Your Tasks

  • Play a key role in shaping the future of engineering insurance by proactively co‑managing local portfolios that contribute directly to our global success story
  • Act as a trusted expert for engineering underwriting across HDI Global – while developing your own specialisation
  • Help elevate our global underwriting excellence: share insights, champion best practices, and actively contribute to a culture of learning and innovation
  • Work hand‑in‑hand with regional teams and global stakeholders to design underwriting strategies that are market-relevant, forward‑thinking, and aligned with our long‑term vision
  • Bring clarity to complexity by analysing current performance and future project potentials - supporting sustainable portfolio growth and strong financial results
  • Stay curious and enthusiastic about technological developments – including AI – and explore how they can create new opportunities, improve processes, and strengthen our business

Your Profile

  • You have at least five years of international experience in underwriting corporate engineering risks - and a passion for the technical world that comes with it
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, business administration, economics, law or a similar field – or have gained equivalent expertise through experience
  • You enjoy solving complex challenges with analytical rigor, a practical mindset, and a clear focus on delivering results
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment, but you’re also confident working independently and taking initiative
  • You bring a strong interest in forward-looking trends, especially AI & analytics
  • You communicate clearly and confidently, navigate intercultural contexts with ease, and build strong relationships across functions and borders
  • You are business‑fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages help you shine even more
  • You’re open to occasional international travel and enjoy working in a global context
