Riks Engineer - Process Engineering

Your Tasks

  • Conduct risk engineering surveys and assessments in process and heavy industries, particularly within the chemical, petrochemical, steel, and cement sectors, covering all phases from construction and commissioning through to ongoing operations
  • Identify, assess, and clearly communicate technical risks, and develop practical recommendations for loss prevention
  • Develop and implement effective loss prevention measures and support clients in establishing sustainable risk management processes
  • Evaluate loss potential in accordance with HRC guidelines and support underwriters in the technical risk assessment of complex industrial facilities
  • Perform desktop reviews of external risk reports upon underwriter request
  • Monitor technical developments, emerging technologies, and emerging risks within the process and heavy industries
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HRC standards, guidelines, and risk engineering tools
  • Develop and deliver training programs for clients, underwriters, and claims professionals

Your Profile

  • University degree in engineering, preferably at Master's or PhD level, ideally in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • At least 7 years of professional experience with large-scale facilities in the chemical, petrochemical, steel, cement, or similar industries; alternatively, relevant experience as a Risk Engineer within the insurance industry with a focus on process or heavy industries
  • Strong knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and technical assessment of process industry facilities and equipment
  • Good understanding of international safety and industrial standards
  • International experience and/or a strong interest in working with different cultures and multidisciplinary teams
  • Curiosity and a genuine interest in digital developments, including Artificial Intelligence and its applications in risk engineering
  • Strong customer orientation, consulting skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical matters clearly and effectively to different audiences
  • Highly self-motivated, with excellent communication and teamwork skills, and a structured, independent approach to work
  • Excellent English language skills (minimum C1 level); additional language skills are considered an advantage
