Portfolio Steering - Actuary & Business Analyst (Long Tail)

Your Tasks

■  Define, develop, and maintain analytical and actuarial models for all long-tail lines of business, supporting data-driven underwriting decisions in the industrial customer insurance business of HDI Global SE
■  Handle ad-hoc analytical requests for special or complex topics
■  Take end-to-end responsibility for ESG line of business, including KPI monitoring, portfolio performance deep dives, regular reporting, and support of planning and forecasting processes
■  Support the integration of ESG line of business into portfolio steering activities
â–  Close collaboration with strategic underwriters and other stakeholders (controlling, pricing, actuarial valuation) in home office and (lead-)underwriters worldwide
â–  Collaborate closely within the team to ensure alignment, methodological consistency, and best practices across all lines of business

Your Profile

■ Strong actuarial and analytical mindset with a deep understanding of underwriting principles and decision‑making in industrial customer insurance 
â–  High ownership mentality with a proactive advisory approach and strong stakeholder management skills.
■ Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
â–  Professional actuarial qualification is an advantage (e.g. DAV, SAV, CAS, IA or similar)
â–  Several years of professional experience within an insurance company
â–  Proficiency in statistical, analytical, and data visualisation tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Power BI)
■ Strong analytical thinking skills and enjoyment of working in an international, cross‑functional team 
â–  Strong proficiency in English and willingness to learn German
