Your Tasks
- You will head the Global Claims Center of Competence for the Property Line of Business, overseeing a team of approximately 15–20 claims professionals, including claims specialists and field adjusters. Responsibilities of the department includes handling and monitoring the most complex global claims, monitoring the global complex claims portfolio, and supporting local branches with expert knowledge, training, and all other facets of the claims handling process. You will also ensure consistent and timely reporting to Global Executive stakeholders
- As Global Head of Property, your role is to develop and implement a comprehensive strategy and organisational structure that empowers claims professionals to operate as a cohesive global team of experts
- In partnership with your team, other Global LoB Heads, and the Global Head of Center of Competence, you are responsible for fostering a high-performance culture. This includes delivering best-in-class claims handling, communication, and service, particularly in the most severe and complex claims scenarios, to achieve outstanding outcomes for HDI and its clients
- You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the Chief Claims Office, the Claims Centre of Competence and the Global Claims Community
- The team collaborates closely with Underwriting to apply insights from previous losses, identify and adjust exposure patterns, and develop policy wordings
- Together with your team, you will establish and maintain a global portfolio overview, utilising clear key performance indicators to enable systematic trend analysis and pattern identification
- You will drive the enhancement of global claims workflows and provide support to local claims units with respect to their local portfolios and reserves
- The team is also responsible for conducting audits
Your Profile
- You hold a degree in law, engineering, or loss adjusting
- You possess substantial international experience in handling claims for short-tail insurance products, ideally within the Property Insurance sector, and demonstrate robust technical expertise in insurance policy interpretation, legal frameworks, and industry standards
- You have regularly engaged with global industry stakeholders, including clients, brokers, and service providers, and have successfully led complex claims negotiations. Your communication skills—both written and verbal—are of a very high standard
- It is your motivation to providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships with clients
- You have already proven strong leadership with preferably managing international diverse teams. You are a strong believer of empowering your teammembers
- You are adept at managing claims portfolios, analysing financial data, and implementing cost control measures
- You have a comprehensive understanding of risk management principles and are skilled at proactively identifying and addressing potential risks
- You are highly motivated to help shaping a new global claims structure for the future
